The Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive 89/336/EEC
The Directive applies to most electrical and electronic apparatus, that is, finished products and systems that include electrical and electronic equipment.  This directive has now been superceded by a new directive: EMC Directive 2004/108/EC.  To view the text of the directive go to http://ec.europa.eu/enterprise/electr_equipment/emc/directiv/dir2004_108.htm
